In the world of desserts, there are few things as universally adored as chocolate. It’s the go-to comfort food for many, a reliable source of joy and indulgence. Today, I’m thrilled to share with you a recipe that not only celebrates chocolate in all its glory but does so in a fun, irresistibly crunchy way. Enter the Chocolate Crackle Slice – a no-bake treat that combines the classic joy of chocolate with the nostalgic crunch of Cocopops, the soft sweetness of marshmallows, and the tartness of freeze-dried fruit for a multi-textured experience.

Ingredients:

For the Base:

450g Chocolate Chips

150g Melted Coconut Oil

250g Cocopops (You can also use Rice Bubbles) 

200g Mini Marshmallows

30g Freeze-Dried Strawberries or Raspberries

For the Ganache:

200g Chocolate Chips

200g Coconut Cream

Method:

Step 1: Preparing the Chocolate Base:

Start by melting 450g of chocolate chips with 150g of coconut oil. The microwave is your friend here, melting the mixture in 30-second bursts. Stir well between each burst to ensure a smooth, homogenous melt. Once melted, set this aside.

Step 2: The Crunchy Heart:

In a large bowl, combine the Cocopops, mini marshmallows, and freeze-dried fruit. This trio brings a delightful mix of textures and flavors – the Cocopops offer a satisfying crunch, the marshmallows a gentle, sweet chew, and the fruit a tart counterpoint to the sweetness of the other ingredients.

Step 3: Bringing It Together:

Pour the melted chocolate and coconut oil mixture over your crunchy base ingredients. Now, mix thoroughly but gently with a spatula, ensuring every piece gets a good coating of chocolate. This is where the magic happens, binding all the elements into a cohesive mixture.

Step 4: Setting the Stage:

Transfer this mixture into a greased and lined pan, approximately 25cm in size. Even it out with a spatula, pressing the mixture down to ensure it sticks together. The anticipation starts here as you refrigerate the pan, allowing the base to set and firm up.

Step 5: The Ganache Glory:

While the base is setting, it’s time to prepare the chocolate ganache. Heat the coconut cream in the microwave in 30-second bursts, being careful not to let it boil (around 2 minutes should do it). Then, add 200g of chocolate chips to the hot coconut cream. Let this sit for a minute to gently melt the chips, then stir thoroughly. If any stubborn chips refuse to melt, a brief return to the microwave for 30 seconds followed by stirring should achieve a smooth ganache.

Step 6: Final Flourish:

Pour the ganache over the set base, spreading it out to cover the surface evenly. The ganache adds a smooth, rich layer that perfectly complements the crunchy, chewy base. Refrigerate again until everything is beautifully set.

Step 7: Slice and Enjoy:

Once set, cut your Chocolate Crackle Slice into generous pieces and serve. This no-bake delight is perfect for sharing, gifting, or enjoying as a personal treat. It’s a testament to the joy of chocolate, combined with the fun textures of cocopops, marshmallows, and the unique addition of freeze-dried strawberries, making each bite a delightful experience.

Are you ready to elevate your baking game and impress everyone with a batch of the most delicious blueberry muffins? This recipe is not just any ordinary blueberry muffin recipe. It’s a carefully crafted blend of tangy, sweet, and fruity flavors, designed to deliver a burst of flavour in every bite. Let’s dive into the magic behind these heavenly treats and why they’ll become your go-to recipe.

Ingredients:

Wet:

460ml Soy or Oat Milk

2 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar

260g Sugar

150g Oil

1 tbsp Vanilla Paste or Extract

Zest of 1 Lemon

Dry:

650g All Purpose Flour

5 tsp Baking Powder

1/2 tsp Baking Soda

1 tsp Salt

The Star of the Show:

500g Fresh Blueberries (400g in the batter, 100g for topping)

Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the Buttermilk

Combine the milk and ACV in a jug and set it aside. This mixture creates a homemade buttermilk that adds a rich tanginess to your muffins, ensuring they are moist and tender.

Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. This step is crucial for evenly distributing the leavening agents, ensuring your muffins rise beautifully and have a perfect texture.

Our Big Re-Brand Reveal

Some of you reading this have been our customers since we started way back in late 2019!  And for that we are eternally grateful!

Others may be wondering who the f*ck is FROSTED!?!?! It may seem like we have come out of nowhere but I promise that isn’t the case.

While the name, website and social accounts are new, this dessert business actually started in late 2019, under a different name and brand.

Over the years the original brand has evolved, pivoted (thanks Covid!!) and changed in many ways and we felt it was time to spruce things up a bit, to bring some excitement back into the brand.

Along with the re-brand, we have also created a brand new menu… Some items that are fan faves we have kept (lamingtons for example… you guys can’t get enough of them!  And for that we THANK YOU!!), and we also extended the menu and added some seriously delicious desserts & cakes.

However, the re-brand is more than just a new name, website and menu! We are going to be doing things very differently at our FROSTED headquarters. And our little team is VERY excited to bring these new ways to you, our beautiful customers! 

Here is a sneak peak of whats to coming in the coming weeks and months…

We will give you guys a look “behind the scenes” on a regular basis. 

We will be sharing some of our favorite recipes with you guys! (Yes, some of our top secret recipes are coming your way very soon!) 

We will be launching a whole “bake it at home” range of desserts (think White Wings Cake Mix but wayyyyyyy better!), plus other exciting new menu items.

We will be offering next day delivery in Metro Sydney.

Oh, did I mention we will have a whole range of desserts that can be shipped Australia wide??

That is just the tip of the iceberg as to what’s coming in 2024! 

This is a very exciting year for our little team and we are so excited to have you all along for the journey!
